Busy week ahead for Hofstra

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra volleyball team will play four games this week as the Pride prepare for the start of the Colonial Athletic Association game next week.

Hofstra will host St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center before heading upstate to compete in the Syracuse Tournament where Pride will face Orange, Army West Point and Yale on Friday and Saturday.

The home game against the Terriers will air on FloVolleyball and the weekend tournament will be available on ACC Network Extra.

The Pride recently competed in the Denver Invitational where they lost a three-set match to Butler before battling Portland and Denver in four sets before falling in both. Hofstra is 2-5 for games this week.

Hofstra is 9-0 against St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-5 against Syracuse, 6-2 against Army West Point and 4-3 against Yale. Pride beat the Terriers in four sets a season ago. They last faced Syracuse in 2018, going down in four sets. Hofstra swept Army West Point in 2018 last encounter and lost to Yale in three sets in 2009.

Pride will face three teams from New York State this week. Hofstra had huge success against New York teams. Since the program became Division I in 1982, Pride is 119-35 (77%) against New York teams.
