Candidates Wanted for 50th Annual Miss Nisswa Scholarship Contest – Pine and Lakes Echo Journal

NISSWA – The Miss Nisswa Scholarship Pageant celebrates half a century in 2022.

Registration is open for the 50th Annual Miss Nisswa Scholarship Pageant and the 31st Annual Little Miss Nisswa Program.

This event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at Nisswa Elementary School. All former royalty are invited to attend the show in their crowns and sashes.

To be eligible for the Miss Nisswa pageant, girls must be in grade 11 or 12 or homeschool equivalent and live within 10 miles of the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce or have attended elementary school Nisswa in any year, or currently attending Brainerd High School.

The five areas of the competition are Essay, Talent, Stage Question, Evening Dress, and Personal Interview. The scholarships, prizes and cash awards total over $5,500.

Registrations are available now and are due by March 4. Rehearsals start in mid-March. These girls will continue to represent Nisswa at various events throughout their year of service.

Registration for the Little Miss program is open until March 4. To be eligible for this program, a girl must be in grade two at Nisswa Elementary School. Three second year girls will have their names drawn to represent Nisswa as the Little Miss. These girls will be associated with Miss Nisswa, Miss Nisswa First Princess or Miss Nisswa Congeniality for appearances throughout their year of service.
