The Magnolia Township Preservation Association has announced a $500 scholarship for a Putnam County high school student pursuing a degree in history or U.S. government.
Applications are available from the guidance counselor at Putnam County High School in Granville. Submissions are due April 1.
The MTPA will also reopen on Monday, March 14 with exhibits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. Tours of exhibits will also continue to be available by appointment.
Genealogical research can also continue from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday morning. Masks are optional in public spaces.
The first program this year will be Clear Creek Community and will be presented by Susan Campbell at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 24 at the museum, 110 N. Peoria St., Magnolia.
Admission is free and members have priority. The parking lot and east entrance are ADA.
The MTPA receives grants from Illinois Humanities, which has supported the organization throughout the pandemic. These grants, along with the support of members and friends, have made the survival of this non-profit organization possible.
