Softball falls to No. 1 in Oklahoma

The score of the box DENTON, TX –North Texas fell to No. 1 Oklahoma 10-0 in six innings Wednesday night at Lovelace Stadium. North Texas fell behind early and could never get the Bats through on offense.

TO SUMMARIZE:

Oklahoma (39-1, 8-1) took an early lead with a solo homer in the top of the first.

The Sooners added two more in each of the third and fourth innings to extend the lead to 5-0 in four innings.

Oklahoma then added five more runs in the sixth inning behind two more home runs to widen the lead to 10-0 and end the run rule.

The Mean Green (25-11, 13-5) could never do anything on offense and recorded only one hit in the evening.

savage skylar (10-5) was charged with the loss and pitched 4.0 innings before Ashley Peters came into the fifth inning to pitch the final 2.0 innings.

Kailey Gamble recorded the only hit for UNT with a brace late in the fifth inning. She finished 1 for 2 at home plate.

Jordy Bahl (W, 17-1) pitched 5.0 innings and allowed just one hit while striking out six front batters Hope Trautwein picked her up in the sixth inning. Trautwein struck out two batters and allowed no hits in the final inning.

Tiare Jennings led the Sooners to the plate and finished 3 for 4 with two runs, five RBIs and two homers.

UNT will travel to play Kansas on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 at Arrocha Ballpark for a non-conference series. The first pitch on Friday, April 20 will take place at 3:00 p.m. CT before game two of the double header begins at 5:30 p.m. CT. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
