MANKATO, Minn.. – Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Music and Entertainment Industries presents a number of student ensemble concerts as the spring semester comes to an end.

Instrumental Jazz and Contemporary Singing Groups April 23

The Jazz Mavericks and Contemporary Singers perform Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue. Douglas Snapp leads the instrumental jazz groups. The a cappella vocal groups Maverick Fusion and Vocal Precision are co-directed by Douglas Snapp and Stephanie Thorpe. The program will include big band arrangements and popular a cappella songs versions of popular songs.

Spring Choir April 24

The Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform their annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. The backing vocals are conducted by Aaron Humble. the concert takes place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 South Broad Street in Mankato. The title of the concert is “I Will Tread Lightly. . .” with the groups performing an assortment of repertoire with a musical blend from the Renaissance to the contemporary.

Wind Ensemble Concert April 28

The Concert Wind Ensemble will perform Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue. The ensemble is led by Amy K. Roisum Foley.

Admission to the concert is $9 for general admission and $7 for students and children in grades K-12. University students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD.
