Erik Bean, Ed.D., Associate Research Chair in the Center for Leadership Studies and Organizational Research at the University of Phoenix, is the author of this white paper which reviews the history of the study Career Optimism Index™ to understand how American workers are both optimistic and reserved about their career trajectory, then offers practical steps towards engagement with one’s career trajectory.
“Understanding perspective alongside work readiness is key to fostering one’s prospects for happiness as a career equivalent,” says Bean. “The important thing to remember is that what happens in any given workday is not necessarily the last word in happiness and satisfaction.
