VFW University Scholarship Competition for Middle and High School Students Deadline October 31, 2022 – The Bloomingtonian

Bloomington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 604 commander George Kristoff and co-chair Karen E. Cain encourage area students to enter several essay contests.

The VFW shared the following information with the Bloomingtonian:

“VFW Commander announces the launch of the annual Voice of Democracy Patriotic Audio Essay Contest and Patriot’s Pen Patriotic Essay Writing Contest. VFW Post 604 Commander George Kristoff and VFW Post 604 Auxiliary Co-Chair Karen E. Cain look forward to another successful year for 2022-2023

The theme of the Voice of Democracy is “Why is the veteran important?” »

Grade 9 studentse up to 12e grades must write a 3-5 minute essay using an audio CD or USB stick and submit their recording, typed essay and entry form to the local VFW chairman no later than 31 October 2022. The winner from each state will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., city tour, and compete for a share of $154,000 in prize money. The national grand prize is a $30,000.00 college scholarship. Kim Stegemoller is the owner of College Admissions Consultant Class 101. The theme of Patriot’s Pen is “My Commitment to Our Veterans”.

It is open to students from 6eseveneand 8e the notes. These essays will consist of a 300-400 word typed essay and an entry form also delivered to the President no later than October 31, 2022.

Each state winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, a city tour, and compete for their share of $55,000. The National Grand Prize prize is $5,000.00 or one of 53 other prizes paid, the lowest being $500.
